Modern business is extremely dynamic. The basic features of modern business are uncertainty, unpredictability, global connectivity, networking, uncertainty, while the features are also connecting the system of value creation processes from procurement to distribution, business dependence on modern information and communication technology, and great bargaining power of customers and suppliers. In such an environment, the most important resources are timely and early information, connecting them with different stakeholders in order to strengthen the existing level of effectiveness and efficiency and joint development. In order to continuously achieve the highest possible degree of meeting the different needs of customers, many companies encourage diversity in the work environment. The first, introductory chapter describes the concept of modern management. In a long chapter, the evolution of management is studied, and different approaches to management are described. The third chapter is dedicated to modern management as a process and system of persons. The fourth chapter describes in more detail the concepts and methods of modern management. The fifth chapter is dedicated to a more detailed description of the leadership function and leadership approaches, what an authentic leader should be like, modern followers and what style of leadership women apply, and e-leadership and transformational leadership. The last chapter of the paper states the conclusion and appendices such as literature, list of figures, tables, graphs and the like.
